Thanks due to the talented musicians in the band...Ian Peak on saxaphone, percussion and backing vocals, Rob Bentley on guitar, bass guitar, vocals and forgotten violin. On drums and percussion was Simon Cooper whose band Idlefish have a website at www.idlefish.net
The gig was great and it was particular fun to give both "Rockaway Beach" and " Sheena is a Punk Rocker" by The Ramones an airing. The film on them ..'End of the Century' is a must-see for all the outsiders in the world...it's such a melancholy joy to see such a bunch of social misfits rise above their problems and create such amazing art. I went to New York recently and stood on the CGBG's stage and paid my personal homage to them, especially Joey, the coolest frontman there's been.

My own website ashleyreaks.com is being given a much needed spring clean with new art, music and poetry liberally sprayed across the site. i love making art, especially as i don't really know what i'm doing...it keeps the mystery of the creative process intact and preserves the childlikeness of the finished product.
I adore the art of Gaston Chaissac, Louis Soutter, Carlo Zinelli, and Nick Blinko's obsessive drawings.

I've recorded my first new songs in ages

. Brother Joe
. Here Comes The Chill
. My Imaginary Girlfriend
. There's A Ghost Town In My Heart
. Monster Of Suburbia

I'll put a couple up on my site when they're finished.

Recently I've been listening to The Ruts, who are one of the most exciting and soulful bands of the punk era..also The Stranglers, especially the underrated "Black and White" album....i love Jean-Jacques Burnels threatening bass and Huge Cornballs disdainful vocals, and as for Dave Greenfields vocals on 'Peasant in the Big Shitty..i don't know whether to shoot my load or shit myself (metaphorically speaking of course)

and on that bombshell...

ashley
--
